pink RWB dreams

In a recent post on my visit to the Rauh-Welt Begriff workshop I shared with you guys a picture of what had to be one of my favourite cars we saw in Japan, this amazing barbie pink 993 Porsche convertible!

A few weeks ago my friend in Japan sent me a link to some more images of the car, which at the time was being advertised for sale on a Japanese auction site. These photos capture the colour of the car a lot better than the shot above (which was taken at sundown with poor lighting) so I thought I would post a few on here because I am still so in love with it...

I think any car enthusiast can give you a long list of all their dream cars (it's way too hard to pick one, right?) and for me this car is definitely on that list. Unfortunately I have a strong feeling that it will probably stay on that list for the rest of my life!

I couldn't resist quickly photoshopping this image together; please excuse shabby clear-cutting skills, it's way past my bedtime. Sigh... dreams are free! Good night fellow RWB Porsche dreamers ♥

girls of stance

If there's one thing I love, it's seeing other girls that love cars and wheel fitment as much as I do. Some... maybe more than I do! Here are a couple of amazing rides with female owners that I just wanted to share on here.

Photos from V2Lab

This S2000 on beautiful red-centred BBS RSs totally blew me away, and of course made me feel a slight tingle of jealousy. The matching seats and the cage are such a nice touch to the car. So clean - and the fitment on those back wheels is sooo sick!

Photo from StanceWorks

This MK3 Jetta coupe has gone through a major transformation - starting off as 4-door! It's so cool to see a car with so much hard work into it and all thanks to a woman. Love it.

Lastly, no - she can't drive yet but that hasn't stopped 6 year-old Lily Rose from reading iheartstance on her dad's computer. Proud father Doug (from Speedtech Motorsport!) sent me a message earlier this week explaining how he didn't even realise that she had been checking my blog regularly and how she has taken a huge liking to it. I had to post the gorgeous photo he sent me because I just can't get over how sweet it is! A future stance-queen in the making perhaps? ♥

Did someone say '89 Accord painted with a spray can? No, it's not from Whangarei! This just has to be the coolest thing I've seen on the internet in a long time. If you haven't already, you HAVE to check the full feature here on StanceWorks!!!!

madbul v.5

There's no doubt you guys have seen Mad Mike's new and improved FD RX-7 'Madbul' and I hope you are loving it as much as I am! My parter Pedey went along to Hampton Downs a few weeks ago to check out Mike testing the new build out on the track. He took some pretty sweet shots while he was there and I thought it might be nice to share a few with you guys.

Mike's Work Equips look sick with the black dish and fit perfectly into his guards - drift stance at it's best!

The new Kiwi-RE built 26B now makes 583hp at the wheels.

Sick!

i miss you...

It's been a month since we got back from Japan, and I still can't get RWB out of my brain. At the moment I am working on a new page containing some high resolution wallpapers, but my uploading system is having a meltdown so hopefully it will be ready by tomorrow. In the mean time, here is another rolling shot of the beautiful Tunerhaus. Sigh...

my jdm bubble shifter

I'm still suffering without my digital SLR which is yet to be fixed. But I've reeeeaaaally been wanting to share a pic of my new jdm bubble gear knob that I bought in Japan on here, so excuse poor quality image...

Love it!

close up with the RE Amemiya hurricane

While we were checking out the RE Amemiya workshop out in Chiba, we got the chance to shoot the latest killer time attack machine to come out of the shop - the Hurricane 7! While Aaron Mai from NZ Performance Car shot some sick images for the magazine, I managed to snap a few of my own to share on here.

Here in New Zealand we have some seriously awesome RX-7s to show off; Mad Mike's deadly drift weapon MADBUL, Andrew Redward's sick LS1 V8-powered FC and Aaron Keach's extremely bad-ass 20B-powered FC to name a few. But I've never seen an RX-7 like this car with my own eyes before, and it was a real treat to get to see it up close and personal. It's not something that I'm big on, but time attack styling is really starting to grow on me and the more I learn about it, the more I can appreciate cars like this.

The Hurricane sports a pretty insane widebody kit (RE Amemiya SGT aero kit) and some intense graphics! It was quite the sight to see when we walked around the back of some quiet shops and saw it sitting there in an empty car park next to a cabbage field!

Under the hood sits a turbocharged 20B triple rotor. The beautiful set of 18×10-inch Enkei GTC01 wheels are super lightweight and suit the car perfectly.

I cannot express to you how extremely small this seat was!!! I felt pretty cool sitting in until I realised that I actually had no idea how I was going get out again. I'm not the smallest person okay! (I'm 5ft 9"!)

Getting to see the Hurricane in person really gave me more of an insight into the time attack tuning culture and a whole new appreciaton for RX-7s all together. It might not have flush fitment or crazy offset but that doesn't mean that a shit-tonne of hard work hasn't gone into this build. I wish I could see it race in person too! Who knows, maybe one day it could happen...

green with RWB envy!

While we were in Shinsaibashi we got the chance to catch up with International RWB Director Toshi and check out his beautiful 993 Porsche 'Rough Rhythm'.

Everything about this car is so immaculate and we were totally in awe of it! I've often wondered what my favourite 'stance' is, but when I saw Rough Rhythm I knew I'd found it.

The way those smooth round fenders hug the massive rear tires is true perfection in fitment form! The massive 18-inch SSR wheels are 10.5" wide in the front and 13" wide at the back - some pretty crazy numbers.

Although the body kit is very similar to Nakai-san's Tunerhaus, the overall appearance of the car is still very different. Toshi chose the green colour as he wanted the car to look different and stand out, and it certainly does just that. Similar to this RWB Porsche we saw at Tsukuba; I love the look of the brightly coloured paint with the wheels in all black, it looks super tough!

I know it's mega cheesy but whenever I look at the rear-end of these cars I automatically get that "I like big butts and I cannot lie" song stuck in my head!!! Does anyone else think of that or am I just super lame!?

I couldn't resist getting my 'girl-on-car' pose on for this car - I wouldn't usually conform to this but it was a special occasion!

To make a great end to the night Toshi took us out for 'Okonomiyaki', which is like a Japanese version of pizza - but with cabbage and noodles of course! An evening of delicious food, good company and an amazing car, and one that I'm not going to forget in a hurry!

honda appreciation time!

I loved this matte black Civic we spotted out at Tsukuba and thought I would share a few quick pics on here...

Speaking on the topic of Honda, I will share with you guys a little story about my own personal Honda experience. My first car back when I was 15 was a 1990-something Honda 'Ascot' called Helen. Helen was very ill - and NOT in the good way! Whether it be the battery dying, the starter motor failing, the radiator overheating or my mum reversing her into a fence, Helen was always causing problems for me. I think this whole experience made me dislike Hondas somewhat which was very sad!

Since I've really gotten into the automotive scene however, I keep seeing more and more amazing rides that blow me away and make me realise how awesome Hondas really are! I now have such big love for cars such as the EK civic, NSX and of course the S2000. I thought it might be a cool idea to put together a quick 'thank-you' collage of my favourite cars that have showed me that not all Hondas are a nightmare like Helen (I'm SO SORRY Helen wherever you are!!!) but that they can actually be the dopeness!!!!

We ♥ honda!
