So when is low too low? Is it the ultimate goal to have your car so slammed that you miss out on being able to share it with your friends? There's no denying that it looks freakin' amazing, but am I willing to make that kind of sacrifice? Now my own words from this blog are repeating over and over in my head... 'I want to be able to drive this car!'
What do you guys think?

air bags haha, they solve this issue, slammed when hard parked, useable when you want to roll around
ReplyDeleteget air ride then you will be able to use the car for everyday use and at shows be as low as you wish.
ReplyDeleteI had the same issue - My front splitter is now fitted with 7 quick release fittings, so if I come across a speedbump that I absolutely can't go around, 30 seconds and the front splitter is off, and I have an extra inch and a half clearance. Works well for me.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, there's no such thing as too low, and air-ride screams homosexuality. Static or nothing.
Air-bags are alot more work and will cost more but the only way to get over speedbumps. Otherwise carry some ramps on the roof and lay them down everytime you come up to one.
ReplyDeleteI've been going through the same pattern of thought in recent weeks with my MX5 our roads are probably worse then yours so things like this make sense.

"usable stance" still looks badass.
Bottom line: Cars are meant to be driven. And for people like us, getting together and sharing them is one of the best parts, so being low to the point of ruining that is just shooting yourself in the foot.
ReplyDeleteThe only way to be that low IMO is air. It makes way more sense if you want to hard park *and* drive away without worrying about killing your oil pan. It's the best of both worlds if that's what you want.
Saying "there's no such thing as too low" is discrediting a ton of cars that can actually drive..... And will have more fun doing so than a car that can't get anywhere. Like I said, bottom line: They're meant to be DRIVEN! (Hard parking is fine, but how often have you tried hard driving? Way more fun! ;))
Rule of thumb: Its too low when it stops being fun.
ReplyDeleteHella functional comes to mind :p I think leave it as is. Thats half the reason the car is so cool
ReplyDeleteFit a bulldozer blade to the front and smash the cats eys and speed bumps
ReplyDelete"Turning around and going home" 100m from an event then posting about it screams for attention. Whoop de do, its low, harden up take the speed bump at an angle and get on with it, otherwise lift it.
ReplyDeleteget 15s and have fun trying to drop it more to fit the wheels?
ReplyDeletecarry planks in the boot?
get bags and have anyone riding static lose all respect? along with your handling..
personally i would just carry planks.
Full props for rolling so low.
Heres mine:

i own the a6 on air from the stance off.it handles better than factory as running the good stuff so still gets driven hard.iv had 11 audis either desprung or coilovers and none go as low.it gets dragged on flat roads all the time.never gets driven high unless needed to.
ReplyDeletemy fc drags kit on flat road and bits of kit smash off on cats eyes.mostly be trailered on roads though.you could always do that.or go air.i vote pink 17x10 and 17x11 bbs rs's white centers pink lips and pink bolts if your just wanting a little ground clearance.
air bags
ReplyDelete@Matt - I'm not really sure you understand what a blog is. It's all about attention, thats kinda the point.
ReplyDeleteAnd "take the speed bump at an angle"? Oh man, I bet she's kicking herself right now having never thought of taking a speedbump at an angle!
cut up some planks and carry them in the trunk?
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get all your money from? Do your parents fund you?
ReplyDeleteI think the internet has a big role to play in this situation. so many people just look at cars and comment on how awesome they are. BUT the problem with this is most of the time they are just hard parked. I would rather keep my bank cards in my wallet and drive my car every day than have somthing thats cool for all the internet kids but is so low it no longer can serve its purpose... which is driving
ReplyDeletea cool car in my mind is one that looks awesome but can also back up the looks while driving on the limit
After all, this is Auckland;NZ and speedbumps are plentiful so you're ultimately forced to pick your poison. Impressively 'stanced' or forced to turn around time and time again. If this car is your daily, the ball is in your court...
ReplyDeleteOnly you have to decide if you want that your car is a daily or a showcar, its easy.
