This is exactly how I felt this morning when I woke up and realized that there was a f*cking bad-ass Datsun 280Z in my garage, and I was the owner of it.

Today I am in Wellington at Speedtech Motorsport, where Andre is putting the Z on the dyno to check if the air/fuel ratio is safe before we head back to Auckland. The car is clearly in need of a bit of attention, but that is what I find most appealing about it. The challenge of taking this beautiful, classic S30 chassis and helping it reach its full potential. I can't wait to share more on here, and it's going to be AWESOME!

Welcome, Project Z.

YES haha if its anything close to the miata this will end well
ReplyDeletelooks in stunning condition, brilliant find these days as that most are rusted out pretty good :(

Soo sick! cant wait to see how this turns out!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!Get ready to weld!
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously way excited for you! CONGRATS!!!! I've been avoiding those vintage Z's because I'm way tempted, but I'm pretty good at keeping focus for my next girl.... (At least 6 months out yet, but a 3.2 Carrera is my next. <3)
ReplyDeleteHope you don't mind if I live vicariously through you, again. ;)

ReplyDeleteawesome, can't wait to see you put your spin on it
ReplyDeleteIts going to be a mission to find the 'perfect' wheels for!! So many potential options and then getting that right fitment too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Thank-you for your comments guys! The MX-5 is staying with me for the rest of this year at least. As for the wheels, the main issue is shipping as it is so damn expensive to NZ. I guess we will see what happens :D
