march update

This weekend was yet another one spent away from home, this time travelling north of Auckland to Whangarei and then onto Omapere on Saturday to shoot a wedding. I thought I would share a few of my favourite images on here - even though not all of them are car related! Firstly my best friend (she always gives me the perfect gifts!) gave me this gorgeous canvas print and I absolutely love it! Thanks so much Suzie!

Another big thank-you goes out to my flatmate Patrick for installing my coilovers while I was away. I need to get the guards rolled before I can go lower with my Watanabes but at the moment here is what it looks like. It makes such a difference seeing the car even just this much lower, it already looks so much better than when it was at the standard ride height.

My wheels are ready and waiting... what do you think of the colour? You can see how it looks a lot better than when I posted those pictures of them being painted in the workshop. (Note that tires aren't on properly yet!)

Omapere is such a beautiful location for photography - if you are looking for a place to get married in New Zealand this has to be one of the top spots! I was really happy to have the opportunity to shoot there!

This morning Mum and I went out to an Alpaca farm and I couldn't help but post a few pictures on here, they are just too cute. Alpacas are my favourite animals and I was so excited to get to see them like this!

How can you not love them? These ones were so cuddly and friendly!

Next weekend I'm off down to Beach Hop in Whangamata and I really can't wait, it has to be one of my favourite events of the year. If you're thinking of going it's a must-do, seriously!

skatepark at sunset

Today we went down to muck around at the local skatepark after work. The light was so perfect...

Apparently my Irish flatmate can skate! Who knew?

trip to the bottom of new zealand

On Friday I flew down to Invercargill to photograph a wedding for my dear friend Suzanne of Photography by Design. I'd never been this far down the country before and I wasn't really expecting anything exciting, but after spending three days in the heart of Southland I completely understood why people loved it so much. It is such a tranquil and beautiful place and I couldn't get over how quiet it was compared to Auckland! Here are just a few of my favourite shots from Saturday.

They were such a lovely couple and the bride looked effortlessly beautiful, so easy to photograph. The wedding was held at Colac Bay which is about 40 minutes West of Invercargill. It was such a clear day we could even see Stewart island in the distance, such a stunning location...

I loved everything about Riverton, all the old buildings there made it a great place for a location shoot. So pretty.

Taramea Bay was nice too.

It was so nice to get away for the weekend and I'm so happy with the photos. I love New Zealand ♥

photos in the dirt...

my partner somehow coerced me into tagging along to watch him ride on the bsx track out at riverheard forest on sunday. not quite sure how he managed to persuade me to hang out with him in the dirt instead of at the sunny beach, but i decided to take my camera along to make the most of it. besides the sweltering heat, it turned out to actually be quite a lot of fun! check out some of my shots...

emma highfield lingerie

i was really excited to see that auckland-based costume and lingerie designer emma highfield recently opened an online store. i'm such a big fan of emma's lingerie, her pieces are so feminine and beautifully detailed - she even handcrafts everything herself! check it out here.

Photobucket

a few months ago pedey and i went along to miss lingerie model 2010 which showcased some of highfield's designs worn by the contestants. the show was absolutely amazing - check out these gorgeous pink sets below, so cute.

highfield has also collaborated with auckland photographer maegan mcdowell on several occasions to produce some stunning images of her recent collections. here are a few of my favourites...

rolling...

browsing through pedey's laptop earlier, i found some images from an impromptu rolling shoot we did of my car a while ago. i really love this one!

Photobucket

i think i may have already posted this one on here but it's definitely my favourite shot of the car...

Photobucket

isn't pedey good at this? for some reason i'm just shit at taking photos of fast moving objects.

anyway, check out this post on stanceiseverything.com - it's so cool to see other people appreciating the bB. love it!

i always thought that taking photos of cars was fairly easy, but after accompanying pedey on various photoshoots and trying it out myself i've definitely gained a huge appreciation for automotive photography. it's totally not as easy as it looks!
